991.2 GT3RS owners rejoice! You can now change the colors of your wing endplates without the fear of the dreaded OEM threaded insert failure. Available in primer, OEM Matte Black or OEM Porsche Color with our Paint-To-Sample option.

The Science - 

Wing endplates, also known as air fences, are aerodynamic devices that are typically placed near the tip of a wing to maximize downforce. They work by trapping high-pressure air on the wing's lower surface and preventing it from escaping into the low-pressure area on the upper surface. This is known as the endplate effect. Endplates can also reduce the influence of wing-tip vortex and cause the tip vortex to move laterally, which further decreases drag. Endplates can also interact with the aerofoils of a rear wing to create vortices that can improve diffuser upwash and reduce drag.

Downforce - 

At 155mph, the 991.1 GT3RS wing only produces about 535lbs of downforce. At the same 155mph, the larger Wing Endplate design of 991.2 GT3RS develops nearly 700lbs of downforce. A loose or failing Endplate greatly reduces the overall downforce at speed. Consistent downforce not only helps on turns, but it tremendously keeps the 911 rear-end planted during braking from very high speeds. The GT3Belts V2 Endplate is designed to outperform the OEM design and execution for consistent downforce when you need it the most!  

Threaded Insert Failure - 

The OEM 991.2 GT3RS Wing Endplates are prone to failure. Causing the endplate to vibrate since the screw can't be securely fastened or removed. GT3Belts removes the threaded insert all together using hardware design that's more reliable.

 

Design Version 2.0 - 

Prevent future stripped OEM head bolts of your 991.2 GT3RS Wing Endplate caused by threaded insert failure. GT3Belts Wing Endplates have been engineered to fit more secure than OEM. Our Wing Endplates are sturdier and have a stout redesign that maximizes downforce with better management of airflow around the wing element. Best of all we totally eliminate the OEM design flaw of the threaded insert. 

 

GT3BELTS vs Aftermarket  - 

There is NO comparison to the fit and finish of the GT3Belts Wing Endplates vs the aftermarket. The construction of our Wing Endplates have the same material density as OEM. Aftermarket endplates do not have the same precision fit and may likely be more prone to failure due to harmful harmonic resonances sustained during high speed runs or heavy track use.
